Kites, Kites, Kites!!
The Wheaton Park District couldn't have asked for a better day for their kite flying extravaganza. Warm temps, a good breeze, LOTS of people. There were over 1,000 registered kite fliers there on Saturday. There was no official announcement yet, but it seems that we have a good shot at breaking the Guinness Record even though the breeze did die down a bit at the crucial moment. We'll keep our ears out, though, for the final count. In the meantime, enjoy some pictures of the day (courtesy of Farrah and Kristen from Warrenville).
As you can see, my kids had a fabulous and memorable kite-flying experience. Oh, well. I guess you can't make your kids have fun. Hubby and I had a good time though. And it seems like a lot of other people did too. It was a cool site to see- all those beautiful kites in the air all at once!
Did you fly a kite? We would love to see your pictures or hear about your experience? Maybe your kids actually wanted to get in on the record-breaking fun. :)

What an incredible event! Looking at the photos, it was a bit of a Sled-fest too - were large numbers of Sled kites made available somehow? Our local International Kite Festival doesn't have anywhere near that number of fliers - registered or otherwise!
